Sharm El-Sheikh is an Egyptian tourist city located at the meeting point of the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez on the Red Sea coast. It covers an area of 480 km² and has a population of about 35,000, making it the largest city in South Sinai Governorate. The city hosts numerous resorts visited by tourists from around the world and is famous as a global diving center attracting both enthusiasts and professional divers.Sharm El-Sheikh also features an international airport, and off its coast lie Tiran and Sanafir Islands. Its main areas include Ras Nasrani, Ras Umm Sid, Ras Gamila, Ras Kanisa, Sharm El-Maya, and Nakhlat Al-Tebl, along with Ras Mohammed Reserve to the south and Nabq Reserve between it and Dahab. Naama Bay lies at the junction of the continents of Asia and Africa. The city contains over 200 hotels and resorts, in addition to restaurants, cafés, commercial markets, entertainment cities, nightclubs, and casinos.
