Safaga

Safaga is an Egyptian city administratively belonging to the Red Sea Governorate.

Safaga contains many tourist villages and is specialized in diving training, fishing competitions, and various recreational tourist activities. The city has several hotels and world-famous seafood restaurants. Safaga is also known for its black sand, which is beneficial for treating certain skin diseases and chronic joint conditions such as psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Additionally, Safaga is an important Egyptian port for importing and exporting goods and minerals. The port also plays a significant role in transporting people to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially during the Hajj season, due to its proximity to the Saudi coasts. Safaga is known for its enchanting weather year-round and its calm, serene beaches, protected by a nearby island that prevents crashing waves. The waters are clear and sparkling.

Safaga has high-quality diving centers due to the abundance of diving spots. Among the most famous is Sharm El-Naga, located near the shore, 40 km from Hurghada and a few kilometers north of Safaga. The shallowest parts of the coral reefs are only 4 meters deep, consisting of fire and staghorn corals. The area hosts a variety of fish species, giant octopuses, and shells.
